Basrah( South of Iraq). Basrah operations command took several steps and arrangements few hours before Iraq play Iran in their last group stage match of the AFC Asian Cup 2019 in Dubai. Iraq and Iran are paired alongside Vietnam and Yemen in Group D of the competition. The city downtown witnessed a heavy deployment of security forces on the main roads and streets just in case of expected riots during the game.

A press statement of the operations command urged the people and city inhabitants to show a clear abstention from firing gun shots during the game.
